Annual Wine Tasting Reception

A Financial District tradition since 2001, our annual fundraiser provides a forum for our supporters and volunteers to network, meet teachers and students, hear updates about our programs and enjoy great food and wine. Corporate sponsors support our programs by participating, and local winemakers offer unique tasting opportunities for our guests.

Due to COVID-19, we cancelled our 2020 event and produced a special video update instead.

Stay tuned for details on the next annual event!

Empowering Women for the Future

BAFEF celebrates International Women’s Day with a special event that brings together women in finance with high school girls from under-served communities. Personal finance instruction is provided through one-to-one mentoring, along with special guest speakers and a truly unique opportunity for support and encouragement that empowers young women.

Started in 2016, this program has helped more than 200 Bay Area girls improve their financial literacy and discover the network of support that women in the SF Bay Area financial industry provide to each other. Our allied organizations help recruit volunteers and support the event, including the Financial Women of San Francisco, the Financial Planning Association, 100 Women in Finance, Women in ETFs and CFA Society San Francisco.

Professional Development Workshops

Since 2014, BAFEF has been providing workshops for high school economics teachers. These unique professional development events provide energizing content, activities and lesson plans, and allow teachers to network and share best practices. Led by experts including economics professors and industry professionals, these workshops provide support for teachers that our education system does not. Each workshop centers around a theme, such as “Teaching International Economics”, “Understanding Behavioral Economics” or “Teaching About Fiscal Policy and the National Debt”. Our workshops qualify for post-graduate university credit through CSU East Bay.
